Welcome to KFS WebSDR #3 using the South East Directional Array, located six miles south of Half Moon Bay, California USA covering the 80, 60, 40, 30, 20, 17 and bottom portion of the 10 meter bands. It also provides redundancy to the WebSDR(s) on the Omni antenna.

This facility was established by Craig, W6DRZ (sk) and is maintained by a group of local and remote volunteers. Technical descriptions, operating tips, and up-to-date propagation information may be found on the ABOUT page.

More information on the worldwide WebSDR project can be found on www.websdr.org. An outstanding alternate system in the Western USA is Northern Utah WebSDR, north of Salt Lake City. For HF reception from the East coast, use either NA5B WebSDR in Washington, DC. or the K3FEF WebSDR in Pennsylvania.

Possible AUDIO problems with the CHROME web browser

A recent update to the CHROME web browser seems to have resulted in audio issues with this WebSDR and other web sites that stream audio.  In the meantime, if you are having audio problems while using Chrome we suggest that you use a different browser such as Safari, Firefox or Opera until the issues with Chrome's audio are resolved.


This WebSDR is undergoing testing

This WebSDR (#3) uses new hardware and is currently undergoing testing meaning that it it may occasionally be restarted, go offline and/or experience loss of signals.

This WebSDR is connected to the TCI-572B Log-Periodic Array which is centered at 135 degrees, toward the southeast giving it excellent coverage of South America as well as most of the continental U.S. - but it will have nulls centered on 45 (toward Europe and Northeast U.S.) and 225 degrees (toward the Pacific) on 40 meters and up but below 40 meters it is more or less omnidirectional
